The 2017 Walk-a-thon will be held on March 17th and will be a fun day, as each class has a 30-minute period to participate in walking laps around our track, playing dodgeball, cup stacking and enjoying a freeze dance. This is a great exercise-oriented event that involves students, teachers, parents, and friends and family for one great cause: raising money for Friends of Third Street programs.
All students are encouraged to get sponsors for this event. Students are sponsored for their participation, not based on how many laps they make. Our goal is $200 per student, but any amount collected will benefit our school directly. All money raised benefits Friends of Third programs, including: All library staff, the fully-equipped technology lab and our tech teacher from Planet Bravo, teachers' aides, stipends for the teachers for classroom supplies, classroom technology, Physical Education, drama by Mr. Pratt, and music.
We appreciate your support of Friends of Third and Third Street School! If you have any questions or are interested in helping out with this fun, healthy event, please contact Patricia Alexander, email@example.com, or Jennifer Rissier, firstname.lastname@example.org.
SPONSOR A STUDENT!
Information will be sent home with students in February about collecting sponsorships -- from friends, family, neighbors, and other community supporters. Each student will have a custom web page available for taking donations and for tracking his/her progress towards our fundraising goals.
Cash or check sponsorships (payable to "Friends of Third") can be left in the FOT box in the main office, or mailed to Friends of Third, 201 S. June St., Los Angeles, CA 90004.
