Support the Kindergarten Aide Fund

Because Third Street School receives NO Federal Title 1 Funding, we fund a much-needed Educational Aide to the Kindergarten teachers through optional parent donations.

The Kindergarten Aide is a full-time employee at Third Street, paid for entirely by kindergarten families (no funds are provided for this position by LAUSD).  The aide assists teachers in each of the classrooms, and assists students during recess and lunch periods.  The presence of this full-time aide allows teachers to have more time to focus on educational goals, and provides an added level of safety and security for children throughout the school day.

To fund the Kindergarten Aide position for the next school year, we are requesting a contribution per student of $450.

You can make your contribution online by credit or debit card, using the form on the right side of this page.  Or, if you prefer to pay by check, you can drop off a check in the school main office.  Checks should be made payable to "Friends of Third" with the note "Kindergarten Aide Fund - your child's name".

Due to ever-tightening budgets for public schools, the Third Street community relies upon the generosity of its parents to provide services that enrich our children's educational experience.  Therefore, we ask that Kindergarten families give to BOTH the Kindergarten Aide Fund and the Annual Giving Fund.

Parent contribution to these funds is optional.  Regardless of your ability to contribute,  ALL students will be able to participate in any class/school activity.  However, if enough money cannot be raised for the Kindergarten Aide Fund (or for FOT's Annual Giving Fund), these programs will be at risk of modification or elimination because they are entirely community-supported (with no funds coming from the school district).

Thank you for your consideration and support!
