About Donating

In Kindergarten, parents are asked to donate for 3 separate causes:

  1. Kindergarten General Educational Aide Fund
  2. FRIENDS OF THIRD Annual Giving Fund
  3. PTA (Parent Teacher Association)

In Grades 1-5, parents are asked to donate for two main causes:

  1. FRIENDS OF THIRD Annual Giving Fund
  2. PTA (Parent Teacher Association)

NOTE:  Korean Dual Language Program (KDLP) parents will be asked to donate for that parent-sponsored program as well (see CAMPUS ORGANIZATIONS AND RESOURCES).

Supporting the Kindergarten Aide is essential for our Kindergarten teachers.  This Educational Aide supervises children during recess, lunch and helps in the classrooms.  Parents pay for this much-needed help since there is no Federal Title 1 funding for Third Street School. All giving is optional.

FRIENDS OF THIRD is our main fundraising organization or “booster club”.  Every year there is a budget prepared by the board and programs are funded throughout the school year and must benefit all grade levels.  The budget is posted on the bulletin board by the Auditorium.  

PTA’s mission is mainly ADVOCACY and SERVICE for children.  The funds donated to PTA make the many helpful events, charities, and volunteerism possible to help children at Third Street, in California and the Nation.
