Third Street Elementary School is consistently proving, even in the face of current State and District budget cuts, that a public school education can still produce well-rounded, top-scoring students who will continue on to higher education and become distinguished leaders of tomorrow. Third Street students’ Academic Performance Index (API) is 948, placing the school in the top 2% of all public elementary schools in Los Angeles.

Third Street School receives absolutely no Title 1 funding due to the fact that fewer than 20% of our students qualify for the free- and reduced-lunch program.  This means that Third Street School receives approximately $350,000 LESS FUNDING per year than a comparably-sized Title 1 school in the district.  It is up to us to fill this gap and keep our school competitive. Please join us and support the efforts of our parents-and-friends groups:

  • Friends of Third is a 501(c)3 non-profit booster group organization that supports Third Street Elementary with curricular enrichment and classroom support programs. “FOT” also coordinates various events and communications to enrich our community of parents, students, staff and neighbors.
  • Third Street PTA is part of the national organization whose mission is to provide a powerful voice for children, be a relevant resource for families and communities and a strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child. At Third Street, PTA coordinates the annual Reflections Art Contest.

At Third Street Elementary, these two groups team together on a number of initiatives to show how THIRD STREET SCHOOL IS A CASE STUDY FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION THAT WORKS!
